BRIANNA SCOTT CASE STUDY

brianna_scott_creare_marketing_njBrianna Scott, who owns Creare Marketing along with her husband, is ready to take her business to the next level – but she keeps running into these same obstacles. She struggles to find a balance between running a thriving business and spending time with her toddler son. Her business is growing, but Brianna is already stretched thin. How can she continue to support her family, but also tame her crazy entrepreneur’s schedule?

Brianna’s challenges are ones many of us mom business owners face – which is why I’m thrilled Brianna has agreed to let me share her mentoring sessions with you.

As we go along in this case study, you’ll not only see how Brianna meets her challenges, but you’ll also get a series of thought-provoking questions and specific, actionable homework to help you apply this expert advice to your own challenges.

Join us as Brianna shares her business’s goals and challenges, and learn how you can save time and reclaim your sanity – without inventing a time machine!

Meet Brianna

Brianna Scott is the founder of Creare Marketing. After years of dealing with long commutes and corporate runarounds that stifled her creativity, she decided to quit her job in August of 2012 to go freelance – both to foster her own creativity and so she could raise her son at home.

Her creativity has been blossoming and business is booming – so much so that her husband quit his job to work with her. Even with the extra help, Brianna’s finding herself overwhelmed by work and stretched then, and she’s finding that too much of her day is spent on administrative tasks, rather than on the creative work she loves to do.

Brianna wants to take her business to the next step, but she’s come up against a challenge many moms in her situation face: she’s working more hours than she’d like, trying to raise a family at the same time.

In our introductory call (which you can watch above), I help Brianna identify some of the main things that are holding her back, including these two huge issues:

  • She needs to identify her perfect client, and create a pricing structure that works for her, not against her
  • She needs to create systems in order to become more efficient, and to outsource work that’s not her core love.

I then identified two experts who could help Brianna do just that: business strategist Tara Gentile and Natasha Vorompiova of SystemsRock. You’ll find links to those videos – packed with tons of valuable information – below.

What’s included in Brianna’s case study:

  • An introductory call with Brianna (above), where we talk through the challenges she’s facing in her business: trying to find more time, figuring out her pricing, and trying to find balance with her family.
What you’ll learn: Many of Brianna’s struggles (and your own!) actually stem from two main problems.
  • Two expert calls
    • First Brianna talks with business strategist Tara Gentile, who helps Brianna identify her ideal clients and set her pricing structure.

What you’ll learn: How to determine who you should be targeting, and what you should be charging in your own business.
    • Then, Natasha Vorompiova of SystemsRock helps Brianna automate and outsource her workload, saving her countless hours.

What you’ll learn: How to put systems into place that cut down your workload, and let you focus on what you really love.
  • A final check-in call, where Brianna shares how she’s applied all these lessons to her business – and what the results have been.
  • Insightful homework questions for each call to help you apply these lessons to your own business.

Your Homework:

Download this worksheet to help you out.

As you watch this video, be thinking about your own business. Keep a notebook handy, and jot down anything that comes to mind – challenges you face, things you love, a point you resonate with, or even a new marketing strategy.

Now, do some journaling. (If you prefer thinking out loud, grab your phone and leave yourself a voice memo, or take a friend out to coffee and record your conversation.)

Write about your business as though you’re explaining it to someone new. Explain why you got into it, what you love about it, and what your main challenges are.

What’s your dream for your business? Do some free-writing about where you see your business in the next 1, 3, and 5 years. What will a day in your life look like then? What are your goals and dreams?

Do this before watching the next two videos, and you’ll be amazed how much more valuable they’ll be to you.
