Ways I Have Used Fiverr to Save Time and Money

Over the course of running FreelanceMom.com I have worked with many types of service businesses, from redesigning our website to hiring a business coach to getting help deploying some type of social media strategy.  These have usually been more long-term in nature and more expensive.

But what about all those little tasks I need help with that I don’t have the technical skills to complete (or just don’t want to spend the time doing), but still need done?

Along came Fiverr.

It’s a great time to be an entrepreneur because you don’t have to do everything on your own and there are so many resources to use online, which is why I wanted to try out Fiverr and give you a few examples of how I have used this particular platform.

Now, some services have not been as successful for me as others, but I am only out $5 and there are so many people offering the same service that I can just shop around.  If I found the right resource, I can use them over and over again and that helps me to build a team of resources I can rely on for tasks I want to outsource.

Proofread and Edit Documents

When I was writing and publishing five days a week (glad I don’t do that anymore), I got so overwhelmed with the editing process and decided to try Fiverr for one particular article on ways to incorporate your business.  I looked on Fiverr and gave it a try.  For this particular article, I needed a table created to make it easier for the reader to be able to compare and contrast options.  The person I hired on Fiverr did edit the article and made a few minor changes and created the table.  The first draft she sent me didn’t look as nice as I wanted, but when I sent her my feedback, she immediately changed it and sent it back.  Cost – $5.   Time saved – 1 hour.

Create a Tagline

To this day, I’m still not a 100% happy with my tagline for FreelanceMom and still working on that.  A friend recommended that I use Fiverr to brainstorm and get more ideas and a second opinion.  So I did.  I wouldn’t say this task and using the person I used was a complete success since I still haven’t changed my tagline, BUT it was nice to get some ideas from someone else.   Still worth a try.  I think I’m just too picky.  Cost – $5. Time Saved – 2 hour of brainstorming time.

Logo Design

Another way I used Fiverr was to get help on my logo for FreelanceMom.  This is one that is so personal and there are lots of other platforms to use such as 99designs and Microlancer.com, but can’t hurt to try someone on Fiverr.

Call-To-Action Buttons

Fiverr article 4

This was a great way to hire someone on Fiverr.  I had a program I was running and wanted to make it as easy as possible for someone to apply.  So, I needed some call-to-action buttons created.  I sent over my requirements and within one day I received my call to action buttons and was able to use them on WordPress and get on the website immediately.  We all need call-to-action buttons on certain pages, so this is an easy way to get one quickly depending on what you are doing. Cost – $5 Time Saved – 45 minutes

Design and Code an Opt-In Form or Graphic

Fiverr article 5

This ‘gig’ I used actually cost more than $5 since I wanted a more customized opt-in.  Also, this gig says for ‘aweber’ but he actually designed the opt-in graphic to use in Mailchimp, since that is what I use for email marketing.  Here is the finished product.  Cost – $25 Time Saved – 2 hours or more (since I don’t have a clue how to even begin creating this).
