What's your 'Family Day?'

Hi Mommies,

In our family, we have Saturday as our official family day. We make sure that we spend quality time together as a family during this day. No other event or appointment of some sort can ever intervene on us, celebrating Saturday as our family day.:shades:

For us, it's Saturday also.

For us it is also Saturday and Sunday we all try to kind of relax and get ready for the next week. Well as much relaxing as you can do with a 3 year old and 8 month old.

We try to reserve Saturdays and Sundays for our family days :) In the summer months we go swimming in our pool, go to the park for picnics, maybe take the older one to a movie he has wanted to see, order in etc. We try to keep chores to a minimum for the entire family and make it laid back and fun....walks to the local ice cream shop are a real hit around here.

The past few Saturdays we've been working on the garage. When I realized we took last Saturday off I was kind of bummed.

We will get back in there this weekend. We've actually completed half of the garage :)

Neither LOL. We moved in March of 2006. When we moved in, we kept threatening to clean stuff out, thin stuff out etc. We just never really got around to it.

In January of 2007, we were told the house we were living in was being sold. It was completely unexpected. We moved in February. There was no time to clean out and thin out. So, when we moved I threatened to go through one box per day. I did fine for the first week then quit.

So, my daughter told me she'd help me. We have thrown out and given away so much stuff it's unreal. I'm just tired of saving stuff "just in case".

We gave away all books for children. We gave away all my old blankets. We gave away old pots and pans. We threw away a ton too.

This is nothing more than a major once every ten years cleaning :)

Whew, you really did a 'major' cleaning in there Audrey. I'm happy that you are able to finish what you intend to do once in a year. We do a lot of cleaning on the house lately. Personally, I don't like stacking some old stuff, I'd better give them away or much less toss the all!LOl:-)

Well we have family 'days'! The whole of the weekend is dedicated for family and friends. We dont take up jobs that time, whatsoever. It really gives a stimulus for the mind to get back to work the following monday. Indeed home sweet home.
