I started my Virtual Assistant Business in April of this year when my son was only two months old. I knew that it would not be easy to develop a clientele and that I would have to put a lot of hard work into it, but I was determined to make it work. An impatient person by nature, I became increasingly frustrated with each week that went by and no customers.
I started questioning my decision to work from home wondering if I had made the right decision and if it was really worth it.. :?

This forum gave me hope. The very first time I read the posts on this forum, I was encouraged by the support I saw people giving each other. Everyone was nice and encouraging, and willing to help each other in every way possible. Everyday that I log onto this site I gain the strength to keep on trying and not give up.

Last week, I saw a couple of freelance opportunities posted by Lori. Fearing the worst, but hoping for the best, I asked to be considered for the work. My heart skipped a beat when I was notified I had gotten one of the jobs. This was my very first client, and I got it by networking on this board! Thanks to Lori's kindness and her willingness to help others make it in their WAH businesses, I landed my first real customer.:D

Us WAH moms need more people like Lori out there. People who are willing to take a chance. She doesn't have to post overflow work and leads she gets from her clients, but she does in an effort to help other WAH moms (or dads) become successful too. There are no words to describe the gratitude that I feel. I would have never landed my first client without this board and Lori. My hope was totally restored in that one gesture. I hope to one day be able to do the same thing for others.

To those of you who are seeking that first client, Don't give Up. Don't sell yourself short. Keep trying, keep looking, and one day (hopefully soon) you will land your first customer.

Thanks For Reading :t4:
