I am new here and not exactly sure where this post should go but I am curious as to what everyone does to make money from home. I just recently became a SAHM after working for 15 years. My oldest son need a change in schooling because his teachers just didn't care, so now he is being cyber schooled. i would love to be able to earn some extra cash.
Thanks
Sandy

Sandy,
Welcome to the forum. The vast majority of folks who work at home are selling something. Some sell a business such as event planner, bookkeeping, coaching etc. Others sell a product, either through ebay, through a direct sales company, through affiliate marketing or through developing their own site and working with drop shippers.
There are companies like LiveOps that hire folks to work at home answering their telephones.
Again, welcome

Hi Sandy,
I've found the best fit for me has been freelance writing. I love to write, so it's an obvious fit. I hate sales and am no good on the phone (especially now that my two year old daughter wants to sing a little song to everyone I talk on the phone with), so I looked for something that was a better fit with my personality. Plus, taking on freelance writing jobs doesn't cost anything. I didn't have the money to invest in anything when I first started out.
My advice for anyone who wants to work from home is to find something you'll actually enjoy. Of course, the income potential is nice, too. But, if you hate the work you're doing or don't believe in the product you're selling, etc., you'll probably not last at it very long. If you look for something you'll enjoy, then you'll be more likely to achieve your financial goals with it, whatever it is.
Good luck.
Angela

Angela,
I have written some stuff for AC and I do enjoy writing. I have written a lot of web content as well. I am wrking on taken it to the next level. Do you have any suggestions on how I might do that? I do a lot of GPT sites in my spare time as well and have had fantastic luck with those. But I would love to spend more time on writing.
Thanks

Hi Sandy,
I've only been doing this for a few years myself, so I am probably not the most experienced person here to offer advice on freelance writing. I got started with writing articles for websites also. There are a lot of good books out there on freelance writing. A few that have helped me are The Well-Fed Writer and The Freelance Writer's Bible. You can get both of them used pretty cheaply on Amazon. I got both for under $5 used. Hope that helps a little.
