Blog and Ping

I'd heard about the benefits of pinging a blog every time you update it, but not until last night did I see the real power of this mini-phenomenom.

I've just put together a new website called alt-cures.com but it's not quite ready for me to start advertising it as I haven't added any articles to it yet. There is a list of affiliate products, so it's ready to go business-wise, but I wanted to have a few articles in the article database before I started promoting it.

I added a blog to the site a couple of days ago and posted a hello world type of first post. Then I pinged it, using the usual ping sites, like king ping and pingoat, more out of habit than anything else.

Last night I checked my clickbank account and nearly fell off my chair when I saw I'd made an affiliate sale off the site!

Now, for a site that no-one knew about, that's a pretty strong endorsement for the power of blog and ping!!!

Just as an update, my site is still doing well on a regular diet of blog and ping. I've got an article database on there now with 6 full articles. Once I get it up to ten, I'll start submitting articles to ezine articles and other article submission sites to increase that traffic.

Amazingly, I'm still getting a few sales from the site despite it's zero google page rank and no advertising, so blog and ping really does work.

Let's see how the site does over the next few months!
