Hi 'Moms',

I love quotes: they are so inspirational- and I thought it would be cool
if we could all share our favorites.:smooch:
Here are some of mine:

'Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.'

'Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.'

'Love begins by taking care of the closest ones - the ones at home.'

Mother Teresa

Great topic Shiroley!

I always liked: Fight for your limitations and they are yours.

Not sure who first said that :)

“You can't do today's job with yesterday's methods and be in business tomorrow”

Unfortunately I could not find the author of this quote. I loved it!!!

Yeah, great thread.

My all time favourite quote is:

"Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and dance like no one is watching."
--Satchel Paige

Second Favourite is:

"As a man thinketh, so does he perceive. Therefore, seek not to change the world, but choose to change your mind about the world."
This is from "A Course in Miracles" (http://www.acim.org)

Another favourite is:

"That love is all there is, is all we know of love" Emily Dickenson

You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back. ~William D. Tammeus

Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you. ~Robert Fulghum

Your children need your presence more than your presents. ~Jesse Jackson

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Specialization is for insects.

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
~Diane Loomans, from "If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again"

All,

here's one I heard recently :

"I cried because I had no shoes, 'till I met a man who had no feet."

I guess there are folks out there who are not as fortunate than you, who have more of a disadvantage than you think you have. Build on the foundations that you do have, and don;t let anything stop you.

Reading a book by Justin Herald 'What are you waiting for?" - an excellent read.

All the best ALL

I was in a novelty shop in New York last summer, spending a week with my cousin, celebrating turning 40, and I saw:

"Chase Your Dreams, Change Your Life" Don't know who "said it", but ever since, I've been doing just that, and, has my life changed sooooo much.

My other favorite, from the play "Wicked" (a MUST SEE for anyone who can get to it in LA or NY)

Are we born wicked, or is wickedness thrust upon us?
(The word "Wicked" can be replaced with Great(ness) - "Night at The Museum, Ben Stillers' latest movie) Great line.

I love quotes.... These are a few to live by...

"For attractive lips- speak words of kindness. For lovely eyes- seek out the good in people. For a slim figure- share your food with the hungry. For poise- walk with the knowledge that you will never walk alone." -Audrey Hepburn-

"The Sky is the Limit for your dreams. All Hard work leads to profit. Todays dreams are tomorrows achievements. History will be good to me because I plan on rewriting it." -Winston Churchhill
