Hey Lori, its Tonya
I am not sure if you remember me but I was the one who had the baby in June and was looking for work at home.
I have not posted on the website in awhile because I have been so busy juggling motherhood and my job. I came across an opportunity and wanted to know if you knew anything about it. The company is called Ameriplan and they offer business opportunities within their company. Listed below is a link to their website. Let me know what you think when you get a chance. I am still looking for work to do from home. :D

Hi Tonya :hello:
Yes I do remember you :) How's the babe?
I am not entirely familiar with Ameriplan - but I have actually been planning to look into it very soon.
My husband and I need insurance actually, but can't afford it. I was saying to him recently that it would be so great if FreelanceMom could form a group to qualify for lower insurance premiums for everyone.
Then shortly after, I heard about Ameriplan. I know it isn't insurance, it really is a discount plan. I thought that I would try it on the consumer level and if it was a good thing, promote it to other women coming through FreelanceMom as a health option.
However, I still really would love to look into actual insurance plans and what would be required to qualify for lower priced insurance.
Let me know what you find out on Ameriplan if you decide to join and promote it...
Best Wishes (and glad to have you back!)
Lori

Thank you it is good to be able to post on this site again. I see a lot more members have joined since the last time I posted.
My baby (Jayda) is great! She just turned 3mos on Monday and I can not believe she is already rolling on her tummy! She amazes me everyday I look at her. I love being a mom! :t4:
I have been talking to a representative or recruiter as she calls herself and the company seems very good. I have checked with the Better Business Bureau and they have had no complaints against them. The only thing I was a little weary about was the $95.00 fee they want you to pay for materials. The materials would be brochures with your name and broker number printed in them that I would hand out to interested clients. I may go ahead a try part time to see if I like it. She also told me there is a 30-day money back guarantee.
I will keep you updated!
Talk to you later :D
Jayda... that is like the most beautiful name EVER!
Any chance we can see a pic? :D
Please do let me know what you discover with Ameriplan. I'm really interested.

Sure I will try to put a picture up. I have had my first training with Ameriplan and I think I am going to like it. Of course I am starting out a part-time only.
I let you know what I discover on Ameriplan.

Hi Tonya -- just thought I'd drop a note...
Any further thoughts on Ameriplan?

Hi Lori,
Sorry it took so long to get back to the site. This motherhood thing is not as easy I thought. Trying to balance a demanding job and motherhood gets kind of hectic sometimes. Oh well, though!
I have already had a few training sessions with Ameriplan and so far I think I will like it. Pretty much of what I will be doing is working as an Independent Business Broker for Ameriplan. I work off commissions. For every member that signs up under my Broker number, I get 30% residual income for the life of the membership. For every new Broker that I sign up with, I get 20% residual income for as long as they remain with Ameriplan.
I have also found out that Ameriplan is not an insurance company. They provide discounts to members thru a network of providers. This is good because with an insurance company, most people (like me!) have to pay co pays and deductibles every time they visit a doctor. I have talked to a couple of self employed business owners and they are very interested because they can save thousands of dollars every year.
Right know they only offer medical plans in a few states. Being that I live in Florida, Ameriplan does not have the medical plan for this area yet (they are talking to the legislative now per my training coach). The only thing that I can offer to clients is a dental plan that includes discounts on vision, prescriptions and chiropractor services. This plan can also be used in addition to already have health insurance.
The medical and dental plans are very competitive so I think I will do well in signing up members. They also pass the benefits to the brokers so I also would get discounts on dental, vision etc.
Do you think it is possible that I could use this site to gain members and new brokers?
Ameriplan is a great business opportunity for someone who wants to make extra money on the side (like me) or for self employed business owners looking to save some money on medical insurance.
Let me know what you think.
Oh, I have to go. Jayda is crying for her bottle :bolt

Thanks for the update Tonya,
It sounds like a good program in my opinion. Absolutely feel welcome to include your link in your sig when posting here on the forum.
Let me know how it goes!

Well I can only speak for myself about Ameriplan but I think it sucks! I have gone through several training sessions, conferences etc. and I still can not get any members to sign up. I just don’t think that the market in my area is in high demand for dental insurance. I have tried pitching the plan to my family members, the self employed even senior citizens and no one was interested.
To top it off Ameriplan tried to draft $130.00 out of my account :cuss When I signed up for Ameriplan they told me it would only be $95.00. Luckily they had the wrong account information because I am no longer interested!
I know I am posting under the "questions for Lori" but I wanted to let you know my status with Ameriplan.
I hope I am not venting too much. It is just so frustrating
Well I guess I must continue my search.
Tonya
What a BUMMER Tonya!
I know it takes time to build a downline for something like Ameriplan, but I have never tried it myself.
I'm super disappointed to hear about your experience with them :(
Did they say what the $130 was for?

No. I had to figure it out on my own. I guess they charged me $95.00 for the materials and training and $35.00 for a Broker's fee.
I just wish she told me before I signed up. I just received a letter in the mail stating that if they do not receive my money by 10/4 they will terminate me.
I will still continue my search or find my true niche!

Sorry to see you had so much trouble w/ Ameriplan. I too, am looking for something good to do from home and it is just difficult. Good luck in the future. I'm considering checking out Stayin' at Home and Lovin' It. I'm not sure what it is yet, the advertisements lean toward sales but the website says it's not so...we shall see.
