Attention everyone:

In an attempt to keep the forum content valuable to users I am going to place a restriction on advertisement posts in the following forums:

1. The advertising forum (http://www.freelancemom.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=59)
2. The bizops forum (http://www.freelancemom.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=52)
3. The WAHM products forum (http://www.freelancemom.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=44)
4. The WAHM services forum (http://www.freelancemom.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=45)

For the time being I will keep the above forums open - however, members will NOT be able to post in them until they have participated in forum discussions with 10 quality posts.

New members to the forum will have a 'Newbie' status. If you post any ads as a 'Newbie' they will be removed. If you continue to place ads without participating in forum discussions you will be banned.

I hope that this effort will help make the forum more useful to all members.

What exactly do I have to do before I post an ad?

Thanks!

You need to have 10 other posts. We're looking for folks who want to contribute and participate in the forum.

For those whose only interest is an ad, there are thousands of places to do the post and run thing :)

Does advertising count as having a link in your sig as well?

The reason for the rule is we want a community not a collection of ads. We want folks to join in conversation, not run by and quickly post their ad before running off to the next spot.

I am the one who checks the boards daily. If you don't have 10 posts in non advertising sections, I delete your ad. I also have been deleting ads from those who haven't posted in a non ad section for 90 days or more. Again, we're looking for those who wish to be part of the community.

SuperMom --

An ad in your sig is fine. FreelanceMom is here as a tool and resource for work at home Moms. That means that I have always wanted members to be able to network and self promote.

But just not at the expense of the quality of the forum.

Sig lines are most definitely allowed. We just ask that people participate in conversations and don't just leave ads :)

Thanks for being a part of the forum!

Lori
