Here's a place for us to get to know eachother on a more personal level... it doesn't ALWAYS have to be business!

I hope you'll join me :D

Nice addition.

Thanks Nell,

The Social Chatting forums have been here since the beginning - but I think they were just too far down on the page. Hopefully this encourages women to get to know eachother outside of 'work' :)

I love social chatting....I think its a great way to get to know one another. I am more apt to business with someone once I have gotten to know them so for me...its a part of networking online.

The thing about my business is, I feel like making friends is a part of it too! :-) It's hard for me to talk about anything it seems without talking "business"... maybe I do need a break? LOL! :lmao: Love these smilies Lori! :t10:

I think this is a great idea for a forum. It is usually all business. I actually have a question has anyone ever been to puerto rico. I want to go there for vacation and wanted to get some feed back on it.

It really seems that this type of communication is becoming popular. I heard on the radio that myspace.com has the largest number of memebers in the world and a couple of years ago it was an unknown website

Hi Lori,

I think it would be nice to hear a little bit more out of people.
Forums are a great place to get to know one another.
Not only that you get to practice writing when you post.
What would be a stimulating topic for everyone.
How about Adsense?
Anyone making money with it?
If so, share your story.

hi
this is a great idea.
like a few of you have all ready said ,its always best to get to know some one first before you talk business.

how many times has some one you don`t know just starting talking to you about there business...how do you feel?? i can tell you it puts me off right away and it does`nt matter how good the opportunity is i will say no.

so just think what people think when we do it to them, thats why we get people saying no to are oppotunitys.

now on the other hand if you take the time to get to know that person first then find out what they are looking for from working from home and help them to get that and then work with them, you will then find that person will not only become a good friend ,but will also work with you as a team to build the business.

thats what networking is all about working as a team, i work very closely with a large team and we call it are family,we have taken the greed out of networking to work together and help each other, thats what builds downlines and business TEAM WORK

Funny, I wonder how many people really read the post!
Even though what I do is in my script I don't think it is evassive.
Like most, if you are interested you will click on it.

But back to getting to know one another.
We already know that most of us are here to advertise.
Forums are great for that!
But, you have to remember that we are people and we are here
to get to know one another, share ideas, examples and scams.
To think of anyone here as a customer needs to go back to school.

Someone here may become a customer, but untill then, get to know one another and experiance true networking at its best.

Why is it that when you request to talk socially, everyone has these HUGE banners advertising their business under their posts? Is it just in their signature?

Anyways, I am a WAHM mom, but I also own a preschool so I go their once or twice a week to check on it.
My WAHM business is slow. I do graphics and websites.
My kids just started back to school and I feel like I don't have enough work to do anymore, even though I'm always busy. Are we moms gluttons for punishment?

That's a breath of fresh air.

It's a full time job weeding through the spammy posts that come to the forum... and it's just plain unfortunate due to the nature of this and other such sites that really are here as a resource for succeeding in networking and business.

Take advantage of good conversation with peers everyone. Consider building a reputation based on sharing good information and just imagine the lead generation from that! Plus, the link in your sig is good spider food :)

Hi Jennifer,

I didn't know you owned a preschool! That's way cool.

Sorry to hear business is slow. PM me if you'd be interested in working on some banners for the WAHM banner section (http://www.buttonsandbanners.htm) of FreelanceMom.

I saw a bumper sticker that read something to the effect of

A working mother is a test in sleap deprivation!

For me this is also true for working at home mother.

Anyone else fealing that way?

I have been bouncing from forum to forum, what fun. I never miss desperate house wifes, but tonight I am. Thanks for DVR I'll watch later. My website also offers many links for WAHJ.

Visit my site for all sort of links, we even offer additional discounts. Local restraunts offer 50% off.

Hello Moms,
My son had his tonsils and adnoids this morning, he is only 4. I had so many concerns for his health and never image the helpness I would feel. He is doing fine, although the pain seems to be unbearable at times. I only wish I could change places with him. Any advice I how top keep him as comfortable as possible. Popcicles are not cutting it! Someone must have a trick up their shelve.

Oh no! I'm so so sorry to hear that. How's the little guy doing? I wish I had advice to give, but have no direct experience with it. My nephew had his out not long ago - he was three at the time. He's been so much better, it was worth the operation.

It takes me awhile to get use to talking to new people. Just like in my business right now I'm a nervous wreck. LOL!! The only work I have done as far as talking to people is as a cashier and then my husband and I ran a small gas station here in our town. No, I don't like to write much.

Hi there Carol_degreg,

Welcome to the forum. Great to have you! :)

Unfortunately...I think we've all been scammed a time or two. :?

What kind of work are you looking for? A work at home job which usually requires no fees OR a work at home business which usually always charges a start up fee. There are many options available to you. ;)

Let us know and maybe we can lead you in the right direction.

Again welcome aboard!

Carol,

Data entry at home is truly almost impossible to find. Having said that, click the links in Tammys signature. If there is something out there legitimate she'll have it posted on her site (s)

Lori
05-01-2007, 09:13 PM
A lot of data entry work comes through elance (http://www.elance.com/c/splash/main/publish.pl?rid=AAGT&f=sellerfunnel1). But you really have to make a commitment to sticking it out there. There is a monthly fee to bid on the jobs that come in - and data entry in particular can be very competitive because there are a lot of offshore providers.

Work form home can be the greatest opportunity a mother can do. If you have kids you know what I mean. But finding the right work from home job can be a task within its self. I also tried data entry online and I must say a lot of them are scams.
I remember I sign up with this one company online I paid about $30 dollars and they sent me all these jpg files about a least 500 with in these files I had to re write these files into word doc. One jpg file had about 1000 to 2000 words and they said it most be finish in just a few days. I guess they made it impossible to finish so they could be keep the money and not pay me.

So I learn a big lesson from them. If you want to do Data Entry online, it’s best to go to Enlace or Get freelancer. Most be careful out in the world of internet.
