So, you only have five minutes. Don't turn on the t.v. Instead invest those 5 minutes into your business:

1. write 3 potential titles for articles
2. read one or two posts and answer them
3. answer two emails
4. submit your already written article to 2 directories
5. place 3 free ads

These are just 5 things you can do in under 5 minutes. Who wants to add to this list? Let's see if we can grow this list to 20 things you can do in 5 minutes or less.

In 5 minutes you can:

6. Submit your website to 5 directories... (here's a list (http://www.freelancemom.com/march07.htm)).
7. Follow up with a customer or client to be sure they are satisfied.
8. Optimize one page on your website for better search results.
9. Clean your desk!
10. Comment on someone's blog entry in your industry.

Lori,

I did set a goal of going through your list. I did look at the first 6 on that list. They all wanted recipricol links. Do you have a page where you put the links to all of these directories?

Well fooey! I have to clean my list all the time... Those ones didn't require a reciprocal a couple weeks ago when I used them.

Sometimes they ask for one but accept it even if you don't put it. Maybe that's the case?

Anyway -- No - I rarely will link to a directory... Although I suppose one way to do it would be to have a place where I put 'Directories to Submit to that Require a Reciprocal Link'. LOL.

Ok...I started at the top...I believe the first one did NOT require the recipricol link, but the next 3 or 4 did so I stopped. Now that I know many will not I'll continue to work my way through the list.
