Nicky,

What are you selling? Are you looking for folks locally or nationally?

Hi
I am looking for people locally and internationally who are interested in the same program I got involve in. It is not a product but a revenue creating system. I am basically in need of fresh leads.

I hope you'll read what I'm about to say and use it to help you. I asked what I think was a super straight forward question. I said "what do you sell?" What is it that you want clients for?

You did answer me but I have no idea what you said to me. So, if I have no idea what you do, and I've been around the block many times, my guess is you are not effectively letting others know what you do.

I know this sounds simple, but folks buy what they need, what they want and what they believe will help them in some way.

You may want to start by relooking at what you do, what you offer, what you want to convey to others.

I sell Tupperware. If you want plastic ware, contact me. That is simple, easy to understand and if per chance you don't know what Tupperware is, it's plastic kitchen ware.

Lori offers VA services. If you don't know what a VA is, they do writing, editing, article submission and more.

I look for folks who like to be in their kitchen. If you eat out every day, and there are many folks who do, what I offer is not for you.

If you hold home parties and don't do much online, a VA is not for you.

There are definate markets for what both of us offer.

I can suggest tons of ways to market, however before you market, you really need to know who you are marketing to and what specifically you are offering.

I hope that helps a bit.

Audrey - that is really good advice.

I said something similar to a Business Opportunity (http://www.freelancemom.com/bizopdirectory.htm) advertiser today. They wanted to know how to improve the effectiveness of their ad. Here's the advice I gave them:

You can use more text in your ad. If you provide more details about the business op -- what exactly the business entails...

Even try getting personal... Talk about yourself a little bit and tell them how long you've been at it, what you are making... you know?

I don't mind if you use more space there - and I think it will come across as less of an ad and more of an opportunity that way.

I think we're making the same point. Express yourself... Let someone know what they are getting into. What's great about? How does it work? What investment do they need to make? Has it REALLY worked for you?

Answer the questions you know that you had in the beginning.

Do this: Make a list right now of at least 20 friends and relatives you will give business cards to and sit down with to discuss your business and what you do.

Networking
Do this: Use your local phone book, the Web, the newspaper, and other sources to locate contact information for your Chamber of Commerce and other local networking groups.
List all the groups along with cost, membership benefits, and find out when the next meeting is that you could attend as a guest to learn more about the group.

New Businesses
Do this: Find out if your town has a newspaper or other source that publishes new business information. Get a copy of the most recent list. Even if you're not ready to send it, compose a letter to one of these companies that introduces yourself and your business. :wav:
