There is The Porch Light (http://ourfamilyporch.blogspot.com) (my personal blog), Little Fun; Little Learning (http://littlefunlittlelearning.blogspot.com) (it focuses on fun activities and educational ideas for children ages 0-5); Rants, Raves, and Rejects (http://rantsravesandrejects.blogspot.com) (my opinion blog), and RS Designs (http://www.designsbyrs.com/blog/) (about my custom blog design site).

I also have private "test" blogs at Blogger, WordPress, and HomeSchool Blogger. Those have been great for testing out new designs before installing them on clients' sites. :) I'd much rather mess up my blog than someone else's!

My wahm blog is: Makinga A Happy Life (http://makingahappylife.blogspot.com), I write about working from home and it´s the kind of blog/site I would´ve liked to read when I first started. it contains a lot of links to work at home places etc. And it´s always expanding. Which is the idea.

Then I have a food blog. Brazilian Food Love (http://brazilianfoodlove.blogspot.com)and my newest one Mama´s Coffee Corner (http://mamascoffeecorner.blogspot.com). ( Revka, above helped me with the header and sidebar images for that one) :D

3 weeks ago, my husband and I come across a great product that took my husband's pain and aches away, we are learning everything we can about the product, the company and the comp plan. Soon I will reveal this product to the entire world. Can't wait to let you in on this great discovery.

How does blogging help your business??

I've had the urge to start a blog but wonder if I can really find enough interesting things to put in it that people would actually want to read LOL

Hi Terri;

First thing to do is check the AVON TOS and make sure you are allowed to set up a non-official website to talk about AVON and promote their products. Here in Canada last I checked that was not permitted but may have changed this. I know they closely guard their branding and copyright.

In terms of content, if you updated 1-2x per week and talked about skin care regimes etc, health related if you sell Curves stuff in your catalogues etc...believe me you will have lots to write about. Center each entry on a product and invite them to purchase with every entry, linking to the store.

As an example, here is my business blog. Each entry usually has a distinct purpose and call to action - whether it is to sign up for the newsletter or purchase something in particular. Other times it is simply to build rapport, interest and trust with my warm market: www.smallbusinessmoms.com/blog.html (http://www.smallbusinessmoms.com/blog.html)

Hi Marlo, Thanks for the answer. I do have an Avon Erep site. I think as long as the blog isnt named "The AVON lady's blog" or the url doesnt contain the word Avon and I dont actually use Avon trademarks or pictures ....then I'll be alright. Not sure what's left after all that LOL. I'll have to look at the advertising rules and such and see what it says again. :)

Terri - I am sure there are creative ways you can get around using their TM's etc. Instead of Thermafirm you can say 'age-defying revolutionary face cream as seen on tv" and have it linkable to the Thermafirm on your e-store site or something LOL. BUT, if you want people to be able to search "Thermafirm" online and get to your blog, this will prove difficult if you can't use the names in the tags of your posts and in the blog entry itself.

Well...first of all, blogs are ranked faster with the search engines than regular websites. Blogs are all the rage on the net right now. More and more people are blogging these days. And if you have a website/sites or business/businesses, you would base your blog around your websites or businesses...(including links to them).

You can also participate in blogs (that relate to your own) and make comments. This gives you more exposure by linking your name on your comments either to your own blog, website, or business.

If you own a blog, it's a good idea to link with other bloggers and get your blog listed in blog directories.

But...I see you are restricted with the Avon TO's and as Marlo has stated, It will be difficult to get people searching for Avon on the search engines to your blog if you can't use the name.

I'm sure others will have some sound advice for you.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I did start (well signed up for one) but I didnt get too far. I called it the beauty peddler but maybe that wont really be a good thing as far as search engines go. How many people would type that in for a search LOL. I might have to start over.

Any thoughts to a different name that doesnt involve using avon but yet might get people there? I'll have to think on it

HI everyone,
I have a couple blogs. I have one, that is in the process of change. It was an internet marketing tips and tricks blog, I got slammed for TOS violation over at wordpress and I'm working on moving it to my own hosting. As I move I have decided to make it a little more all about me, being a work at home mom, dealing with a spirited toddler, all the trials and tribulations a work at home mom deals with, in addition to the marketing stuff, because I love that stuff too. I also have a 30 Day Marketing Experiment (http://30-day-nmarketing-experiment.blogspot.com) blog with two of my friends. This is the first of hopefully many 30 day experiments we will be doing. It is a lot of fun and I am learning a LOT.

I'm really into blogs. I love them because it's one post, usually under 500 words. I read, I comment and I move on.

I have learned so much, so incredibly much from blog posts.

When I land on a blog that is ad after ad for the posts, I just close the window.

My next personal blog "project" is to find some blogs that I really like, the ones I keep going back to and reading and adding them to my blogroll.

It took me awhile to get headers on mine as well. After you learn it, it's really easy. To add a header...you just upload the image from your computer and choose (instead of description).

Also with adding Adsense...it took me awhile to figure out how to get it at the top of my blogs. That is just drag and drop! LOL! duh :lol:
