Does traffic has correlation with search engine ranking?

To increase search engine ranking, we need to take care on metatag, look for quality link partner, keywords in paragraph, quality related info, smartpage..

But some one say that if our website traffic increase, search engine ranking will increase as well.

Will that be true?

As far as I've seen, no. There's deffinitely lots of high traffic pages that rank well - but in part that's BECAUSE they rank well. (their traffic is coming from rankings).

If your site grows its traffic naturally, by gaining one-way links, then yes - this will improve your rating. However, your actual traffic stats alone don't mean anything. :)
