My little guy is so sick. He started with a very sudden high fever yesterday that actually caused him to have a seizure. Now it looks as though he has a nasty stomach bug. I feel so helpless when my kids are sick.:(

I'm so sorry to hear that! Poor little guy :( That is really scary.

I know exactly how helpless you feel. Let us know how he's doing.

Hi Guys,
Thanks so much for asking. He had a rough weekend, but I think he's on the mend now. He really just had a nasty virus...it's the seizure's that freak me out. My oldest son used to have febrile seizures all the time and fortunately outgrew them. My middle son never had them and we thought we lucked out with Jackson, but he proved us wrong. The "funny" thing...you would think because I am a nurse that I would be calm in this situation...wrong, when it comes to my kids all logic goes out the window! Now that we know...we'll take better precautions when he's sick. Thanks again for asking!

Jessica,

So glad he's on the mend. Both of my girls ran high fevers when young. Thankfully neither ever had a seizure, but there were times I was petrified. Hoping he continues to improve today!!

I agree, when it comes to your own kids, its a different ballgame alltogether. My doctor tells me the same thing about his kids..

One "trick" I learned long ago when my kids were small and ran those really high fevers is that you can switch off between ibuprofen and acetaminafin. I'm sure I"m spelling them both wrong LOL. It means you can give Advil at 12 and then Tylenol at 2 and then Advil at 4 and then Tylenol at 6. YOu can trade off every two hours. This helped us a lot with those high fevers.

Yes, we learned that when my oldest used to have the febrile seizures. I guess we took for granted that our other two didn't have them, so we weren't as obsessive with them. We will be now!! Thanks everyone for your help.
