I have a website: www.joycesartworld.com
I have a shopping cart on my site, how do I bring traffic to my site?
I link exchange to other sites that seem relevant
I signed up for google for now, it's just so time consuming to be on the computer this long.
I put out flyers to artstores
I have business cards
I do a few shows
I think I do everything a woman can do to promote, so why am I not making any money doing what I do???
I guess I'll be told how hard it is to make it in the art world
Maybe that's too
Maybe I just need to be more patient
Maybe I just needed to vent here! LOL!!! well it seemed like a good place to put this.
Any suggestions?

Do you mean you're not selling on the net? Or both online and off-line?
How long have you had your site up? It takes time to get established on the net.
It has been suggested that you spend about 20 hrs a week promoting your site, especially when first starting out.
Some promoting suggestions would be: posting on message boards; free classified ads; blog with links going both ways; writing articles; ppc ads....that should get you started.
Don't spend time submitting to search engines generally. The bots will find you.
When you sell online it is mainly through your words. (I'm still working on this too).
Anyway, hope this helps some. Good luck to you.
You could also try Traffic Swarm (or something similiar) to get more traffic to your site. Getting the traffic is only half the battle...you have to sell them once they get there.

OMY!!! I just found this! I have been away being busy of course and I am trying to make this place a daily stop in my morning routine now, so I humbly apologize for just now getting back here.
Yes, I don't seem to sell my art on or offline, and with everyone telling me how good I am, it just doesn't register :?
OH?? What are the bots?? I have already signed up with like google.
For art where do you suggest I can try for free classified ads? I am on a few message boards, Enchanted Artists.com Greetingcards forums and here! LOL!
What's a good blog site? I tried one and it just bombed, it was one of the first ones around but I forget what the name is.
You say selling through your words.. you mean on your website??? I would love if people would read mine and see if it's appealing for selling? Not just the looks of it. I know the look and feel is good. Wording is my toughest thing, yea, I paint, not write!
And finally, what is traffic swarm?? I get alot of spam emails for web traffic but I don't know if they are ligit so I stay away from them.
Thanks for your input, it's helped alot! :D

You have a very unique offering with your Def Leppard lithograph and I think that could be a great place to focus your efforts initially. You should consider advertising and or establishing reciprocal links on Def Leppard sites. Please forgive me, I'm more of a Van Halen guy, so I'm not up on all the Def Leppard sites out there... :-)
You should also participate in the forums on these sites and be sure to have a link to your site in your signature line. Don't be afraid to mention that you offer the lithograph during the course of conversation as long as the moderators don't have a problem with you doing so. Be courteous, don't spam, and let the mods tell you if you've "crossed the line". Chances are if you just mention it now and then, nobody will care and they will in fact appreciate that you've let them in on the lithograph.
Once you've established traffic targeted to this offering, you should start to see your other artwork sell, too. More and more, word of mouth will build and search engines will send increased traffic, as well. Things should hopefully keep building on themselves, but the key is to keep experimenting and once you see a few methods begin to work you must be tenacious with them.
Good luck!
