Hello, My daughter is due May 23rd. We were told today the baby will be a girl according to the ultrasound. How reliable are those results? We want to plan the baby shower soon and I know she wants winnie the pooh things but should we go ahead and prepare in case it's a boy? We are so excited and really don't care about the *** of the baby as long as it's healthy. Anyone had false ultrasounds that can give pointers?

Nothing is a sure thing and even an experienced technician can make a mistake because we're human. Having said that, if the baby was in the right position and the technician was able to make a positive girl ID then I'd say go ahead and plan the shower. Winnie The Pooh is suitable for a boy too.

When they did the ultrasound were the baby's legs spread apart? If so, then you have a really high chance it's a girl. My frist child had her legs apart and they told me they were 99.9 percent certain it was a girl.

My 2nd daughter, they thought it was a girl, but the view was not as perfect. They told me that the chance was small it was a boy, but from each view they took, they saw a girl. I had a girl that time too.

Thank you so much for your info. Yes the pictures show her with her legs apart and as we looked closer it is deffinately a girl:D and we are very excited. She was so determined to have a girl she didn't even pick out a boys name...lol So we are gonna go ahead and plan the baby shower :balloons:
Thanks again
