Is there any source to know whether my website is listed on the Search Engines?
If listed, is it possible to know on which page my web page is listed or say my website’s Search Engine position?
If there is any source or tool for gathering such information, it would be a great help if you could send me the details.
Thanks & Regards,
Audrey

Here's the things I do:
1. go to any search engine and type in site:www.abc.com Of course fill in your site name for the "abc". This will tell you what pages of yours are indexed.
2. type in your keywords and see if your site comes up
I don't know how long your website has been around. It takes a while. With google, it takes months, 6 months maybe more. I'm actually laughing...I have an old scrapbooking site.....go to google and type in "beginner scrapbooking". Last night I was number one. This morning I'm number 2. I don't even promote that site anymore. It's just there for the adsense. It took FOREVER to get listed in the top 10.
Hope that helps.
This is an indispensible software -- they have a free version that rocks... and when you really get serious, I highly reccomend upgrading.

You can also sign up at Google's webmaster central and submit a sitemap of your site. In 2 weeks or so they'll give you your placement for your terms, and show you which ones give you the most clicks.

Google also has some webmaster tools that can show you all your pages that are indexed and other stats that can help you see how Google sees your website.

Cindy's right, google has some great tools to help you choose what keywords to optimize on your site.
Go to google.com, click on "business solutions", "adwords", then "get keyword ideas" . From there you can enter a keyword or phrase and find out how much competition you have for that, as well as how many people are actually searching for those keywords. The goal is to choose a keyword that doesn't have much competition, yet has a good number of people searching for it.
