I've typed some blog entries, but how do I know if they are being found by this big old web???

Blog posts are very similiar to articles. They'll get indexed according to keywords.

If you have something of value to say, then folks share with others the blog address or the one blog post.

Add your blog to your signature on message boards :)

If you blog has an RSS feed (most do), you can submit that feed to Feedburner.com. Feedburner, in turn, will get picked up by many other sources and make your blog much more visible.

My computer went crazy so I hope I'm not posting this twice.

I signed up but I don't know where to put the codes in my blog. I'm afraid of messing something up. Is it necessary to do this?

Thanks!

Are you using blogger? I think you do need the codes.. If im not mistaken and I very well could be, I think the codes are what tells feedburner when you update? I also wanted to say that you should sign up at technorati. That is a great place to get lots of traffic from.

View your blog as a 'live' article. Remember to keep your content new and fresh and original, and pay attention to keywords. That's what brings in the traffic.:kewl:
