Just wondering if any of you use the now outrageously expensive Elance? And.. if you had seen this site (identical to elance w/o the price tag. http://www.selectadesigner.com/home

Hi Shelly,
I have never seen that site before! How exciting - thanks for sharing it!
Do they get a lot of jobs posted there? Is it strictly for designers or is there also admin work etc like elance has?
Perfect timing, Debbi and I were both contemplating signing up over at elance again to drum up some work. We will definitely check this out.

I was actually kindof surprised at the number of jobs posted. Now, as far as projects actually being awarded, I am not sure. I know the one that I got was for a few ebay templates... uggg.. and was so small that I kindof went behind their backs rather than paying that percentage. Anyway, I am glÊE
¨t may be of use.

Hi Shelly,
I spent some time browsing the site you mentioned yesterday. They really do get quite a bit of work!
I wonder how they advertise... because until you mentioned it I had never heard of them and I research this stuff all the time. I notice their Alexa rating is good though, they certainly get traffic.
Ebay templates huh? I'd love to see them! How much would you charge for something like that? That could be an interesting niche.
Have a terrific weekend!

To be honest I have never done ebay templates for anyone except friends and family. For this one I charged (and now it sounds kindof high) 175.00 for the first and 75.00 for each additional one. He sells a variety of items and wants about 5 I believe.
It does sound kind of promising doesn't it? Create templates that ebay sellers can use that make the bidder feel as if they are not on ebay... more of a professional type store front?

I do eBay and Yahoo auction templates too - for me quick, easy income ;)
I charge almost the same as Shelly, at $150 for the first and $75.00 for any thereafter.
As for selectadesigner.com, I am a member there, and have bid on a good few jobs - I have yet to get a single response. I even wrote the company asking how the response system worked, as I was more then confused about their process.
I don't use eLance, and instead use Guru.com (where I get a ton of business) and RentACoder.com. Guru is an excellent site, and RentACoder is OK - jobs don't really pay enough for my liking, so I only bid there one and a while.
Actually, I have a pretty good list of computer related freelance sites that I will post in just a few ;)
