How do you do it?

I really need to make myself a logo because I'm still using a stock one for my site but I'm not sure how to go about it. I have both paint shop pro and photoshop on my computer and I assume either one would work, right? The problem to be honest is that I have no artistic imagination. :( So how do you go about finding a design you like and making it professional looking? Any tips you want to share?

If you want to create a logo yourself, the best thing to do would probably be to do a search on logos and research what you like and how you could relate this to your business. Don't think that designers have this magic ability to just sit down and create a logo in one shot. It takes multiple drafts, trying different styles, moving things, adding things, changing colors etc.. The good thing about logos is that they can be as simple as just text and still be an effective branding for your business. And if all else fails you can get a free one on the internet... (also a good source for inspiration) http://www.afreelogo.com/ This site has 100 free logos to download and many more to browse through.
