I've seen so many blogs, and have wondered what is it that draws folks in to read your blog? Do you offer tips? Do you offer articles? Is your blog the only place you offer these pieces, whether articles or tips?
How many blogs do you have? Do you have both a personal blog and a business blog? Do you earn money from your blog?
I'd love to see some discussion on blogs.

This is a good thread Audrey..For my opinion, a personal blog is where you can express yourself, discuss among the bloggers about certain issues such as parenting, and linking back to your business blog. Business blog is where you promote and offer tips on the products that you sell. I can say that Blog is more friendly than a website, if you know how to write a good blog...
I'm still learning too. But i think the difficult part is to attract readers to my blog. And so far i have not earn any $$ yet. Hope to earn some..and even the Adsense Ads is not much a help.
Maybe some forumers who have been a successful blogger can share your thoughts..:)

I've never kept a personal blog. I've only had business blogs. My problem is keeping up with them. I do great for a month, then I start forgetting to post.

Same here! I'm scheduling a half hour a day to blog though. I can at least do a couple posts in that time.

Yeah, scheduling is definately a thing you should do. I forget myself sometimes and that could mean less business for me..

I try to post several times a week to my blog (http://blog.entrepreneurdad.com). I cover a range of topics of interest to WAHDs and solo entrepreneurs and each post is a mix of news/commentary.

I post on my blog at least once a day, but aim for more than that. My blog started out as a place for me to post my short stories and poems, but it's turned into more of a place for me to share my daily thoughts. Everything from the absurities of Hollywood to strange animal stories and contests I think are neat. :blah: :blah: :blah:

I have 3 blogs that I use for my beauty business where I offer tips, reviews, information, free samples and more.
I think that people are drawn to them for different reasons. Blogs are quick and easy to get information from and I think that is what readers like. If they want more information after reading your blog they will go to your website. I earn money from my blogs with adsense.
Blogging can be addictive :) and I do agree that you have to have a schedule.

Good questions Audrey! well I started blogging to keep in contact with my family in sweden and my friends in london. But it grew bigger and became a food/culture blog in swedish. Today its one of the biggest or popular food/culture/travel blogs in sweden.
So I deceided to see if I could start some blogs in engl and make some money. Well so far I haven't made much I have to say, but I am positive and now I am a fulltime blogger with this new gig I got.
and no, I dont post everyday, I've actually been slacking too much when it comes to my blogs. Except my swedish one (http://brazilianlinda.blogspot.com).
But the blogs got me this bloggin gig (http://www.dailypowerwalk.com) and now i am going to speed up!
i have 2 blogs in swedish and 4 in english at the moment.
And as the content is different for all of them it's not always eay to keep up :)

Wow...I am so impressed. I would like to start blogging again. Not necessarily for pay, but as a way to bring traffic to my sites.
