I operate a lisenced family childcare from home. I have one permanent part time child t-sat (though not always every day) and I offer drop in at this point so I can provide care arund my new business.
Becoming a Licenced home (at least here in BC) is not easy and I have to continue ongoing training to remain Lisenced. It was worth it though as it gives me the security of a "back up" .

I also ran a daycare many years ago. We did not have to be licensed back then. I believe a licensed home is the only way to go and I'm happy they do that now.
Daycare can be taxing. I admire you. You have to be organized, patient and truly love children. I wonder how many people know how much work this is. On the other hand, you get to stay home with your children AND they have playmates.
How many children do you hope to have?

In February 2004, I found this great website which is full of information on parenting, babies, breastfeeding, names and all kinds of articles that would be useful for anyone whose job it is to care for young children.
I hope you will find it useful - http://www.paternityangel.com - even someone planning to be a parent would find it helpful as there are a lot of news things to learn as a first-time parent.
Check it out!
