Email Marketing is a great way to grow your business - you can send out newsletters 'to inform' or promotions 'to sell or offer services'. I use an easy-to-use and inexpensive (free trial) tool called MailMentum to create email lists and campaigns, and send and track the campaigns right from your browser. This works for me because it manages my email addresses for me, avoids SPAM trapping on my campaign sends, and the campaigns look great so they are 'read' rather than just deleted. MailMentum is a women owned business ... check it out at http://www.mailmentum.com. There's a free trial. And, there's a Fall 50 sale going on now.
Free marketing tips included -- for info, contact info@mailmentum.com.

Hi,

Email marketing truly is the key to success online as well as search engine optimazation. I have a newsletter that now has over 74,000 subscribers and this is how I make my money through developing relationships with my customers and subscribers. Offer information that is not just fluff but helpful in everday business.

Good luck!

That's an enormous list!

How did you do it?

Hi Lori,

I did it through email capture on my websites as well as word of mouth. If you deliver a good product and develop a reputation people find you. I am blessed. Also, I submitted my newsletter to several ezine directories to get exposure. The most important thing to keeping a subscriber is give them good useful information to help with their business.

Good luck!

Well, that's pretty inspiring! I'm kicking myself for not using a popup ad earlier on. My newsletter subscriptions have increased dramatically since I added it. But still, nowhere near your subscriber base :D

Feel welcome to submit some articles to FLMom :) I'm always looking for content that can really help the visitors and members here succeed.

Thanks for your contributions on the forum --

I am in exactly the same situation. It's quite frustrating when you see all those people doing so well. I guess it takes time.

I have found a really good way to promote your business online. It is through Veretekk. They can promote all your business. Everyday you can send out a lot of emails, and they provide the leads, and then they notify you when you get a response from the people. This way the lead becomes a warm lead. When you call the person they actually know your name and are waiting to here from you!!

There is a free version and a paid for version, called the gold version. I think the free version promotes Veretekk, and in the paid version you can promote all of your business. I would recommend trying the free version, see how it works, and then upgrade it you want to. (Veretekk will also stay free forever if you use that version. It is not a 30 day trial or something like that.)

If you are interested in Veretekk check out the second line in my signature.

Hope this can help. :)

Hi! Your site offers a lot of information, but you have a lot of competition pushing the same type of product and they are paying big money for top rankings. If you don't want to use pay-per-click methods, there are a lot of other ways to get traffic. I have a new site that is getting about 70 hits per day and it isn't even listed in the search engines. It isn't alot, I know- but I think it is pretty good considering the site is less than a month old. I have several sites that are fairly profitable. However, I'm really cheap, so I end up doing a lot of the traffic gaining the hard way. :)

You might look into free traffic exchanges. There are ton of them out there, but I don't know how effective they are. Adprofits4u (http://www.AdProfitsOnline.com/1002MGB) is one type of exchange. It isn't free, but they have a 'charity' program in which you can earn advertising or membership by viewing others ads. I don't find it very effective for what I do right now, but it may work for you. I've mentioned it here before and I really LOVE Traffic Swarm (http://www.trafficswarm.com/go.cgi?492725). The traffic there is working well for me (meaning people actually go to my site and I'm earning sales as a result). They have two programs - one is free and one is paid. As far as other methods, I really learned alot with the
'Rich Jerk' as far as getting the word out about my site. There isn't alot of information regarding SEO in the book- maybe someone else can recommend something for you, for that. I visit a few webmaster forums that have sections dedicated to SEO-- you might get more help with something like that too.

I noticed that you don't have an opt-in popup for a newsletter. You might want to consider adding one. People rarely buy on the first visit to a page, but you can draw them back by offering useful information in a newsletter.

Ho do I get people to know about my site and actually direct traffic there? Is much dependant upon the site design or is most of it still the price? Don't mpst people by stuf from huge vendors like Amazon, etc... anyway?

Just looking for some quick ways to get the site going and to fuel some sales....

Thanks!

Hello All,

I've been on this forum a few times and I see lots of newbies including
myself who at times are strugling to make a decent buck online. So I
would like to give out some advice and methods that have worked for
me that helped me succeed in this game.

Ok, I must stress that these methods I'm about to explain are not new.
This is my experience of things and events that have worked for me. So
with that out of the way lets proceed.

If you have a product, service, or website to promote. One thing you
must be clear on, is your presentation. I don't know how many times
someone has said "Go to my site and check it out" only to find
something in the stone age. I mean the people who put up these
quick websites with awfull colors and a bunch of links all balled up
into a page is not going to fly. No one will visit if it looks like garbage.

Email marketing is great. Have an autoresponder that can deliver
your message in a professional manner. There are dozens of
autoresponder services that offer great email packages. Look
for a service that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. But also
see if they have any reviews from 3rd parties. That way you know
the Pros and Cons about them.

Once you have an autoresponder, what do you do with it? Well
they say you should create at least 7 messages in order to get
into the user head that this is a great product, service or website.
Spread the messages out several days. Don't do it on a day by day
basis as the user will tend to unsubscribe quickly if he/she feels they
are bombarded with junk email. Spread the message around 3 weeks.

If you don't know what to say, get the information materials from
product and break it down into 7 parts. Meaning if you have an
affiliate website and the website page copy is very long, then break
it down and make 7 pieces and copy the info to your autoresponder.

Once you have a website and autoresponder in place now your good
to go, or are you? How are you going promote your site, product or
service? Sure you can do a lot of things. You can go to the forums
and place ads, but everybody is doing that and when you see an
ad people sometimes head for the hills. You can place free ads through
those Safelist and or those FAA sites, but they will bombard you with
their ads and offers through email. I know I went on vacation one time
and got over 5,000 email messages when I got back. Not fun to clean
the email box.

So what do you do? Well the object of the game is getting traffic to
your site. Whether it's your site or affiliate site, how do you get
traffic? There are all sorts of ways to get traffic. One is you pay
for it. Such as placing ads on google or paying a service who has
a good track record that can get you the traffic you need.
There are other sources like the free ad sites. Again that's free so
don't expect much. But what you can expect from the free traffic
sites are tons of email with very little in return.

I have found a great product that get's me tons of traffic, publicity
and sales. I have used other programs to help me in my quest but
none have evtr came close to Press Equalizer (http://www.10kinaday.com/presseq.html). It has been a god
send to get this program. Although the price is a little steep at $97 it
has been well worth it.

What the program does is:

Get your websites into the major search engines, including
Google in mere days (usually less than 3)!

Have your press release compiled and submitted to distribution
services daily, weekly, or in monthly intervals to give you the most
possible exposure with a minimum amount of work.

Automatically get up to 100s high-quality backlinks so you can
enjoy more free time, instead of struggling to dig-out high quality
reciprocal link partners or paying through your nose for one-way links.

Receive up to thousands of laser-targeted visitors to generate
new sales over a short time period.

Attract the media attention to be on television, radio, or published
in print. Getting on even a local television channel with tens of
thousands of viewers could be a HUGE windfall of cash for your
business (not to mention the expanded credibility you get).

And it does so much more.

Press Equalizer (http://www.10kinaday.com/presseq.html)
is the only program I use to get traffic. I don't pay a penny for any
more promotion, google advertising or nothing. I let Press Equalizer (http://www.10kinaday.com/presseq.html)
do it for me.

Hope this helps. Good luck in your endevours.
