View Full Version : Hello from Louisville
I found this site through google and I'm glad I did. I had been looking for a place to come and get advice and support for my infant VA business.
I decided to pursue VA self-emplyoyment a few months back and I've been working at it slowly but surely. I'm ready for clients and I hope they're ready for me.
I realize it takes a while to get established and that's OK by me. I'm working temp in the meantime so whenever I get that "breakthrough" client, I won't have anything permanent to leave.
I have a website up and going- www.bkofficepro.com- and I would appreciate any constructive criticism from the experts out there.
I'd also be interested in any over-flow work from the established VA's. I'm open to an interview most anytime.
And for clarification, I'm not a WAHM but a WAHG (guy).
Good to be here.

Hi Bob,
It's great to have you.
The site is set up really well. It's evident you put a lot of time into it, congratulations.
We'll all keep you in mind for overflow work. What are you doing to promote your services?
Best of luck,
Lori

My marketing efforts are coming along. Besides my website, I have business cards, a listing in my regional yellow pages, a listing in yellowpages.com, and I'm inserting an ad in as many free advertising publications as I can find. I tried advertising with Google Adwords and I got good response...but no customers. After three weeks and $300, I postponed this marketing tactic until some revenue started coming in.
Currently I'm reading and working with the book "Getting Business to Come to You" by Paul and Sarah Edwards. It offers sound advice and some very good self-help exercises.
As is the case in all marketing...it is ongoing.
Any help or advice offered will be well received.
Thanks,
Bob
Hi Bob,
In regards to the Google campaign, the trouble I think could be you were getting hits from people looking for Freelance work, not needing it.
Here is a suggestion, try writing an article on why a small business owner could benefit from a business like your own (without massively plugging it) and then include your link in the resource box. Submit that to any small business sites that you find.
Hope everything is going well!
Lori
