Hi Lori-
Given your business name has the word 'ideas' in it, I think you should go with the light bulb since this means 'bright idea' in my book. The 'thought clouds' aren't bad, but they convey exactly that - thoughts. You're going for ideas so my vote is stick with the light bulbs.
Now, as for which design I like:
I like the design in the first column, 2nd cell. This has the green light bulb with the black lettering. The lightbulb looks terrific - use could even use it as a standalone and someone could identify it with ROI. The type face that you used with Redfield Outsourcing Ideas lettering could be something a little less plain, IMO. You need a font that is more eye-catching than the one you're using.
Some thoughts on the other designs:
The Fish - ditch it!! :puke:
ROI with the red box (1st column, 1st cell) - this looks uneven to me with the rectangular box and the wording to the left of it.
ROI with the red/black light bulb - It's not bad, but the red/black light bulb makes me think of something a hypnotist would use (you're getting veerrrryyyy sleepy....) - were you intending for it to be a bullseye (ie - idea marks the spot?)
ROI with the grey mini-blind backgroud - of the thought bubble designs this one is my favorite. As a whole it looks very contemporary but the font needs to change to match the contemporary look.
ROI with the red/black background - looks unbalanced to me. I like it better when the thought bubble comes up from the name instead of from out of no where.
One minor point I'll make: either make the name of your company either "Redfield Outsourcing Ideas" or "redfield outsourcing ideas" - the mixed capitalization looks (Redfiled outsourcing ideas) sloppy to me.
Thanks for posting these for us to view - I hope others give their thoughts as well!

Kinda off topic here, but I didn't want to do what I should be doing (shame on me!) so I started messing around with the fonts on your logo's. Would like to show you, but we can't upload messages. Nor can you attach a file to a PM. Does this forum software have that capability?

Hey Lisa,
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. I'll definitely take your thoughts into consideration as I move forward with the development and branding of this logo/site.
I'm with you on the fish - LOL. Had to try it though. I had a design I wanted to use with a goldfish jumping from a small tank into a larger one. I was going to play on 'expanding your horizons'. But, yeah. That's not working.
I'm putting off moving forward right now because we aren't completely set on ROI - we like the acronym (return on investment) but outsourcing has such negative connotations, we're not 100% that we'll use it in our name.
Feel welcome to suggest a font - I'll try it out. We definitely want a corporate but friendly appeal.
Best wishes, and I really appreciate it when you participate on the forum - your posts are always lively :)

Oh! Yeah! To attach an image you need to hit the 'Img' button - and then give the image path -- it has to be on your server to use it...
You can email me - lori@freelancemom.com instead if you want.
Best wishes,

Sorry, didn't see that 'IMG' button before.
As for the biz name - have you tried using a thesarus? Hubby has a biz called Maximum Fantasy Sports. Unfortunately, someone had already taken that URL so we had to come up with something different. We had a couple of names for the URL, but nothing was jumping out at us. Then he picked up a thesaurus and we found 'Stadium' as a related word to what we had. Fantasy Sports Stadium. com was the winner.
Maybe this will help you-

Lori,
Your work, as usual, is excellent! I love the colors you chose - striking but they don't overwelm the design. Both the thought bubble and the light bulb work well to portray your concept...the bubble seems to take on an 'ongoing thought process' approach, which could imply that you are always thinking of new ideas. A good strategy for any business.
Your choice of fonts is very good because you don't want a weak font, or a 'busy' font that takes away from your message. Since you want to maintain a corporate feel, a simple font is best.
I would have a hard time picking my favorite because they are all very good, but I would have to say I like middle right and top left the best.
Keep up the great work!
Deb
Hi Lisa --
Sorry for the long delay! Just when you sent me those logos mockups I had to change computer systems - it's been a juggle that I'm sure you are familiar with moving over to the rockin' new system :blob:
I liked your ideas on the logo - thanks so much for taking the time. I know how precious it is.
How is your business doing?

Well, I apologize myself for taking so long to reply to this! Yeah, you don't have to tell me about computer systems - we bought an additional computer, tried to set up a home network with the existing machine and I got my computer hi-jacked all in the span of about 2 weeks. But all is well now.
Things have been absolutely crazy around here. Hubby is in the process of launching a fantasy sports website and I've been helping him with that quite a bit. We knew it would be intense, but it's really wearing us down. Thank goodness football season starts next week and we can relax a little. On top of this I'm in the process of redesigning my own site which leads me to my next reply....
How is your business doing?
I started a marketing campaign on marketingtool(dot)com and noticed that I'm getting quite a few hits, but no takers. I really believe it's because my site design lacks a level of professionalism. Image is so important on the web - you've got to make prospective clients believe that you are the real deal and develop some trust with them. It's just way too easy for them to click on the next link and hook up with your competitor. Hopefully the new site design will help snag a few.
I liked your ideas on the logo - thanks so much for taking the time. I know how precious it is.
Hey, you're welcome!! :D Delving into Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop gives me a chance to break away from things and just mess around and have fun. Let us all know what you finally decide on.
Have a fun and safe Labor Day!
Lisa (off to a cookout at the family's house - and I'M GOING TO RELAX FOR A CHANGE!!)
