In case you haven't seen it the recent news articles, I just posted in my blog (http://blog.getthenetresults.com/?p=51) about Jennifer Clason, who recently plead guilty to two counts of violating the CAN-SPAM Act for sending massive amounts of adult-oriented spam. AOL alone received over 600,000 complaints regarding spam e-mails sent by her organization. Ms. Clason also runs a WAHM-oriented site, MommyJobs.com, where she touted her status as WAHM - despite not having children.
I wanted to pass this on to those who hadn't seen the news articles since spam hurts everyone. E-mail presents tangible costs (bandwidth, disk capacity, etc.) for service providers, and the spiraling costs associated with the massive amounts of spam are ultimately passed onto us. Not to mention that spammers aren't exactly operating for the public good -- just take a look at another blog article (http://blog.getthenetresults.com/?p=57) I posted about a spammer who tried to kill a prosecution witness.
I don't personally know Ms. Clason nor her personal circumstances much beyond what has been reported. It's not my intention to pass judgement on her as a person, however it's regrettable that someone well known in the WAHP community got involved in something like this.
