When I first started my home based business It was crazy I always was burned-out,exhausted,anxious always In a rush I was working so many hours. I was so into It that I totally forgot I had a family was 24-7 On my computer my husband wasen't happy at all...
Once he told me, Do you know you have a husband?
I told him "YEAH" What are you complaining about the house Is clean, I made food, the baby Is well taking care off what else you want. So he told me that It wasen't that, he wanted quality time with me So, that clicked to me and It made me think.
So what I did I made my own schedule and It has work for me. So my suggestion Is make a schedule and stick to It the good thing about working from you're your own boss the bad thing at first you need to work long hours If you want your business to grow. So, what has worked for you wahm's and dads?

I just posted on a similar topic.
As I mentioned in the other thread, I consider myself a recovering workaholic. I use to work every spare second that was not designated to my family, husband or son. At times averaging 12 hours of work and about 5 hours of sleep a night.
My husband one day said to me as I labored in front of my PC, "Do not forget why you are doing all this." I think that as we build our businesses we do forget why we chose run a business at home. I personally, did not want my son in daycare 8+ hours a day (even though my mother in law is the director of the daycare that he attended), I did not want to miss important events in my son and family's lives. I was fed up with the lack of flexibility that I could not find being chained to a conventional 9-to-5 job.
One of the ways that I was able to bring more balance into my life was to realize what I wanted to get out of working at home; the biggest motivators to start my own home-based business was to be able to set my own schedule.
So, to answer your question, to maintain balance I did just that. I set up my own schedule that allowed me the time I needed to grow my business, the time I want with my family, and time to be able to continue to grow as a person by perusing my own interests, education, and hobbies.
I will not lie, it’s not always easy. But there comes a time when you really have to prioritize the most important things in your life and to remind yourself of what motivates you to be your own boss. As much as it is not always easy, its not impossible either.

I Agree, I don't always stick to my schedule because I'm a workaholic Mom but I do my best.
For your success,

Yeah, when you first start out it's really rough. Once you get going though...
I think learning to schedule work time is the biggest obstacle that a lot of mom's face when they start working at home. I know it is for me - You're motivated. You're office is right there waiting. You always think you'll sit down to take care of that one little thing and it turns into a lot of little things.. and next thing you know, that one little thing has taken several hours of your time. It's time well spent, but so is time with your family! And time for you! Now, I try to schedule my work hours. Before working at home, I worked in an office from 8-5. When I left, work was over and I didn't worry about it again until the following morning. I'm trying to implement the same rule at home, with different hours of course. :)

Yes,
I would agree it is very scary. Is it going to work? Did I make the right choice. I dont think this is working. I have learned you cannot think like that. That will make you fail.It is starting out slow but it all depends on you.The more time the more results. I see a bright future with mine and I beleive it was the right choice.
