I provided daycare for a few years. The money was decent but it took more time away from my children. They also became jealous of the attention I gave the other children. After awhile, the parents started to take advantage: picking up the children later than usual which conflicted with plans, asking me to watch the children during weekends and not happy when I turned them down, etc.

Also, it is difficult to discipline other people's children. They know you cannot spank them and can act horribly. I no longer do it and have no regrets.

I offer part-time childcare... only for children my sons age and older. I tried with the smaller babies but he got jealous too. But he enjoys playing with the older kids. And being only part-time we still have a lot of alone time too. :)
