Web Travel Agent at Earth.org (about 10-20hrs/week, remote)
At Earth.org we are building a Web2.0 travel guide with a responsible mindset, collaboratively sourced from users and travellers around the world. And we're not just talk about being responsible: At least 50% of our profits will go into environmental, social and cultural projects.
We are a 100% remote team around the world working on the initial beta which has been silently launched and needs your support to get off the ground. We are a small, open-minded and dedicated team and are looking for people who can work independently at the workplace of their choice - be it a beach in Goa, a cafe in Paris or your bedroom in San Francisco.
Earth.org needs you, a person with working experience as a travel agent and a high web affinity. Help us to start building up a new entity on Earth.org. You have an own responsibility and a high degree of freedom for the development and promotion of a business part of Earth.org. You coordinate your work with one of our founders.
Responsibilities include:
- Build an online network of travel agencies all over the world
- Liaising between tour operators, travel agencies and Earth.org users with any issue that arise
- Identify travel needs and offer various services available to the Earth.org users
- Contact and account management via Skype and email
- Product development, opimization and improvement (including at least help with the technical specifications and testing of new features)
- Research new features and possible applications
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a excellent knowledge of the travel industry (online/offline).
- You have a high Internet affinity
- You have excellent communication skills
- Good self organisation, strong attention to detail and independent thinking
- You are totally dedicated to your job and work 100% self motivated, ideally you have remote work experience
- Strong grasp of the English language
- Ability to work with people from other countries, cultures, languages and belief structures
- Share our environmentally, socially and culturally friendly mindset
- Love of travel
Working times: around 10-20h/week, minmum 5h/week
Payment: Basic payment and variable payment
Time horizon:part-time, minimum 12 months, preferable long-term
