Due to a lot of circumstances, my husband is not currently working, and I'm trying very hard to get my freelance writing going so I can continue to work from home.
It's a little frustrating because I'm about 10-15 hours a week short of where I want to be, and I just can't seem to get any further right now.
Any prayers and good thoughts you could send my way would be greatly appreciated!

Nicole,
I completely understand what you mean. It really is frustrating when you need to be doing more and you just can't seem to make it happen. I lost the only job I'd ever had four and a half years ago and while it ended up being the best thing that ever happened to me, it took several months for me to get enough work built up and for me to get in a better place emotionally and mentally!
So you are certainly in my thoughts.
Do you mind sharing what you are trying and maybe I can think of something? PM me if you like. If my IM is not here I will give it to you if you'd like to chat.
*big hugs*

Thanks, Michelle. It helps to know I'm not alone! :)

You are most certainly not alone!
We lost some income when the baby was born a year ago because of me not being able to work much. It wasn't a lot of income in terms of numbers but it was in terms of how far we were stretching it. It paid all the utilities plus bought some groceries and necessities. My income got down to nearly zero for a while and we really struggled. Finally my husband took a second job to try to make up for some of it, but then of course gas and food prices went sky high.
So that's what we are dealing with! I do have some new temporary projects going that I hope will turn into permanent projects so I'm hopeful for that.
Oh I just put my AIM and YIM IDs on here if you want to give me a holler sometime. I am back and forth today, writing and taking care of a bunch of kids!

Yeah, gas prices are killing us, too. It makes me thankful we're both at home full time (except about 15 hours a week that Hubby helps out his mom with her travel business)!

Gas and food prices are hurting everyone I think. We have all but cut out everything in the way of driving except for my husband going to work. The kids are home for the summer (I have three plus I care for my two nieces full time while their mother, my SIL, works) and we really run through the groceries.
Didn't mean to jack your thread, sorry.
That is good that you are both home. I really hope you can find enough work pretty soon.

Don't worry about jacking the thread...it's just a chatty thread, anyway!
Yeah, Hubby and I haven't even been over to visit his parents lately because of gas! I don't mind (I like to be hermity when I'm working), but I know my husband gets cabin fever sometimes.

Nicole,
Sending lots of prayers your way!!!
Hi Nicole -
Where are you getting work from? You might check out elance - put yourself out there as a ghost writer, website content writer, etc...

Thanks, Audrey.
And thanks for the suggestion, Lori. I got one client as a referral from another freelancer, and my current big client I got from a craigslist ad. I've been looking at Elance and signed up but haven't done too much with it. That's my project this week, actually.
