Why can't airline travel just go smoothly? My daughter left yesterday for Israel. She took El Al airlines. This is an airline that's been around since I was a kid.
The guy at our local airport hadn't heard of it and wanted to send her luggage to Italy. He finally couldn't find it so sent her luggage to New York, which was just fine with us as we knew she'd need to recheck it anyway in New York. But now he charged her for an overwieght suitcase as he was only shipping it domestic. When you have a plane to catch, you can't complain, argue, ask for supervisors etc. He wanted 50 dollars for the 5 pounds. I put it on my credit card knowing we'd dispute it later.
Then she flew to Los Angeles where her flight to New York was delayed over an hour. When she got to New York, she had to sit on the ground for almost an hour as they couldn't pull up to the gate.
When she finally got to the international terminal her flight was delayed about 5 hours.
I just don't understand why airline travel has to be this difficult for passengers :(
