When you travel do you bring any type of cleaners with you? For example do you bring Chlorax wipes or do you bring anything else to clean a bit? Do you trust the cleanliness of the hotel rooms?
We always use only plastic cups. We will not use the glass cups provided in hotel rooms. What about you?

The last hotel we stayed in had styrofoam cups...they were individually sealed in plastic wraps. No, I don't bring any cleaning wipes with me. If there were glasses in the hotel room, I would wash it with soap before using.

Maybe I'm too trusting - I don't bring any wipes or cleaners of any kind. I use everything in the room just about as is. Between my husband and I we've traveled most of the world and we've never had a problem.

I'm totally with you MaryAnn. What's the point of a vacation when you dont use all the amenities right?
I've never thought of bringing any cleaning items, sounds too stressful!
I also use as is. Never had a problem. Now, if I noticed something was dirty, I would call that in.

My original post/question was due to an article I read in Good Housekeeping about which cleaners work best on which hotel items.

I take Lysol sray just about everywhere we go. I just don't trust hotels and public restrooms. I saw a special on 20/20 where they used black lights in hotel rooms to show bodily fluids AFTER the rooms had been cleaned. It scared me to death!
I like to hope we can trust the hotels we stay in - we usually reserve a suite - anything else is too small for our troops.
I bring wipes along for good measure - but usually for the messes we make.
I would definitely at least rinse dishes and glasses though.

I have to ask - do you also wipe the handle on the grocery cart? What about the bottom of your purse before you set it on the table or counter top? I read where the bottom of a woman's purse has more germs than a public restroom (just think about where you set it down). And think about what is on the handles of the carts you use after people have been sneezing, coughing, picking their noses, etc. before they touch it.
Those things gross me out more than a hotel room :D

I HATE handles on shopping carts. You are so right. They are germ city.
