Based on my other post, I thought I'd start a thread for folks to post their worst neighbor nightmares.

I think for me, it was the neighbors with the dogs who left them outside and left for a week. We had barking 24/7 for 3 days until I finally called the authorities who came and took the dogs.

Oh Audrey -- we have the barking dog neighbors too. But it's getting better since the dogs aren't puppies any more. And at least they are tying them up now (they're out all day)... because they are car chasers as well :)

But that isn't my vent... my vent is that we hired our neighbor to do some work for us. Paid him over 1k to up front... or NEXT DOOR neighbor... and he never showed up.

I'm sure they hit financial hard times and probably unintentionally used the money... but please explain why nobody shows up to do the work? It's a crappy situation. We're trying to be patient (it's been months) because the kids all play together. So we've talked to him kindly a few times and he always promises to pay us 'a little' on such and such a date and then never does.

Ugh.

On the flip side -- my husband is in a band and they practice in our garage... I bet we're on some peoples vent list :D

You can read my neighbour nightmare on my Pet Peeves blog. Too long to go into detail here.

I'm blessed with great neighbors who live acres away :D , but my 19-year-old daughter has neighbors downstairs whose dogs howl like banshees everytime they are left alone (which is, of course, every day), and new neighbors across the landing who cannot figure out that their parking space # is equal to their apartment #, and send everyone else scrambling to park...she is not a happy camper right now...

I"ve been a dog owner for years. My dogs are not left outside when I'm not home. The barking dog neighbor seems to be very common.

Our neighbors leave theirs out 24/7. Even in thunderstorms. No dog houses... but they are able to get under their deck, at least one of them is. I suppose that constitutes shelter?

We have a golden and she's inside all the time basically. She really SHOULD go out more, but she's getting old and lazy :)
