We currently are posting for an Administrative Assistant to support Hope Street Group’s Executive Director and staff. The position requires 40 hours/week at a competitive salary with experience, including health insurance, paid holidays, and an optional 403(b) savings plan. We offer flexible hours and the ability to work remotely from home.
The Administrative Assistant should have experience in the management of business operations and special projects. Skills include problem resolution, communications, sales management, administrative support, purchasing, expense reporting, administrative-organizational reporting, and event planning. Computer skills include sufficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe design software, and competency in database management.
Responsibilities
• Support the Hope Street Group Executive Director’s day-to-day activities, including scheduling appointments, conference calls, and other clerical support;
• Assist with maintenance of database and website;
• Support staff and board with various policy-related projects and research;
• Assist with general inquiries and dissemination of information;
• Execute event coordination and planning;
• Perform basic office functions such as general record keeping, organizing mailings, and drafting standard business letters/emails; and
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
• Self-starter who is comfortable working in a loosely structured environment with minimal supervision;
• Competency in Microsoft Office Professional, Adobe Acrobat, and Photoshop
• One to two years work experience and/or a bachelor’s degree in a policy-related field
• A strong inclination to network, learn new things, and move up the career ladder
• Have a high attention to detail, strong motivation, and youthful energy
• Collaborative team player and ability to work with diverse groups of people
• A passion for increasing opportunity and prosperity for all Americans
• Ability to keep confidence
