Sr. Software Engineer Media Services

We are a software company in stealth mode developing innovative solutions in personal digital video management. The founding team consists of experienced management and serial entrepreneurs from companies who have sold their previous ventures to companies such as Microsoft, IBM and Yahoo! Our advisory board consists of members who held senior positions at Warner Home Video, Apple and Intel.
We are looking for eager individuals who are interested in getting in on the ground floor of an exciting technology venture in the pre-funding stage.
Were looking for a dynamic individual who can jump into an environment with minimal resources and have an immediate impact. The company is currently located in San Jose, but ability to work remotely is a must and is encouraged. The candidate must be willing to be compensated only in equity for the first few months. A six-month commitment is required.
Overall Responsibilities:
Design and develop Lifebits media management platform for presenting user content to the community - including client applications and UI design
Desired Qualifications and Experience
BS CS/CE/EE or equivalent is required.
BSCS with 5+ years or MSCS with 3+ years of industry experience
Minimum 3+ years of experience with building database driven web applications using PHP
Should have very strong skills in PHP
Strong experience in HTML/DHTML/JavaScript and other technologies like cookies, session management, personalization, authentication/authorization, templates and frameworks
Proven ability to create rich web sites that incorporate web 2.0 methodologies
Strong SQL skills especially with MySQL
Strong knowledge of Apache modules and configurations
Excellent debugging, problem solving and testing skills
Hands on development experience both on UNIX as well as Windows platforms
Working knowledge of C/C++
Proven track record of delivering commercially successful popular software or network related product
Works well with others and participates in strategic discussions
Good understanding of Internet/Web based software/service model, from both technical side and business side.
Knowledge of Streaming Media Technologies. Windows Media / Quicktime / Flash
Strong analytical, communications, and interpersonal skills
Passion and desire to build technologies and companies that can change the world
Self starter and entrepreneurial spirit are a must

Linux system administration setup, configuration, troubleshooting, backups, cron scheduling, etc jack of all trades Linux experience
MySQL database architecture and administration load balancing, clustering, backup, and tuning
