When you watch movies do you tend to watch them on DVD or head out to the theater?
We watched a movie Monday night called Evening. It was a good movie. It was the story of an older woman who looked back on her life. She had two grown daughters and so the movie was switching between the woman's past and her daughters present. It was a rented movie.
I've not been to the theater for a while now.

Usually we watch movies on DVD. I enjoy watching them at home better.

Mostly on DVD or on sattlelite. We go to the movies about every 2 months or so. ;)

Certainly depends on the movie. If the movie has scenes that just beg to be viewed in larger-than-life size, then I go to the theater to see them. But most of the movies I want to see do not need a big screen, I just rent the DVD and watch, at my own leisure, at home so I can pause it, go back to review certain scenes.
I haven't been out to the movies in ages. I usually tivo stuff and I also belong to the blockbuster online club.
I have been thinking about bringing the kids out to the theatre soon though - they've never been! Except for my oldest that is...
I can't remember the last time we went to the movies. It just seems like the cost is just not worth it. If you're chronically behind in seeing DVD's, you don't even notice when you're behind them coming out in theater. Plus you never know when you get next to someone who's talking, a lousy seat, etc.

The last movie I've seen in a theater is Indiana Jones 4. I was pretty disappointed though. I'm a fan of the first 3 Indiana Jones and the new one is not really that great.

I actually like going to the movies better so that I get the full effect and the sound effects are good. BUT I never make it to the movies and Im always behind so I usually catch it on dvd
Haven't been to the movies in ages... but tonight we took the kids to see Kung Fu Panda. It was great - and I felt almost like I'd been to a spa afterward. Just relaxed and like we'd really treated ourselves.

You're so silly Lori....hehehehe. Well congratulations on the milestone. Did the kids just love the outing or what? Family things like that are so heartwarming, yet can be quite pricey! But, they are nice memories our children will carry forever.
We very rarely go to the movies, but I went on a girls night out to see, "*** and the City" when it came out. It was such a blast! We went to this awesome place (first time for me), that is a movie theatre with tables, executive chairs and they serve food and drinks. We went on half price pitchers of margaritas night. We shared a drink, shared nachos, shared lots of laughs and even a few tears. BEST NIGHT EVER!!! :t12:
Generally though, we rent movies from On Demand (not sure if that is available everywhere???). We are terrible at returning videos! We end up spending way more money in late fees than what the movie would even cost. We rented, "The Bucket List" last night as a matter of fact. I liked it.

We have On Demand and a nice big hd tv with a million channels so we tend to watch our movies at home. If something that we have been anticipating comes out we will go to the movies

I nearly always prefer watching at home. You can just about buy the DVD to keep for the price of going out to the movie! Plus, I usually end up rewinding several times.
QUESTION: Has anyone seen The Bucket List? I've got my Netflix rental, but before I watch, I want to know whether it has a happy ending. Without spoiling it for anyone else, is it happy, sad, or something in between?
If someone had warned me about the movie Armageddon, I would have spent a much happier Christmas a few years back. :p

It depends on the movie. If I want to see a movie really bad...I'll go to the theaters to see it. If its something I wouldn't mind seeing but not dying to see it...I'll wait for DVD.
