Chores

What chores do your children do? Are they paid for those chores or is it just part of living there?

My daughter is 11yrs old. She is responsible for doing the dishes on weekdays and cleaning her room on Fridays.
No, she is not compensated with allowance. She is compensated with food, electricity and water...lol. I personally don't believe she should be paid for offering a little help in our family. We all work together on trying to keep things in order. Obviously, I carry pretty much all of the burden of household chores, errands and management. I don't think asking for a little help is too much to ask. If at some point she feels that it is unfair, maybe I will offer her the option of receiving allowance but then she would be responsible for paying for all of her extracurricular activities (i.e. gymnastics).
I do pay her for babysitting sometimes depending on the circumstances.
