Anyone making a living off of jewelry making or sewing?

Recently I have taken up the hobby of sewing and jewelry making. So far I have just made items for gifts or clothes for myself. Has anyone out there made this their job? I'd be interested to know.

While I don't know if they make a living at it, I've seen a few websites from those who sell jewelry and I've seen more really beautiful pieces.

I saw a site the other day. The woman made childrens aprons. Oh my gosh, her creations were adorable. Of course I have no way of knowing if she makes a living either, but what a unique idea.

My Mom loves to knit and has found various ways to earn money doing that. She's given lessons, both privately and in groups. Has sold things she knits at local stores and also sold patterns.

But my favorite thing she does is her knitting website (http://www.knittinghaven.com). She's earning money through the adsense ads on her site.
