This is an idea that I had mentioned in passing to a friend of mine who has such an amazing story, that I recommended he write a book. My friend has no interest in typing...haha I recommended audio taping his story and then having it transcribed.
Well, as it turns out someone he knows had a conference call that they wanted transcribed to text, and they asked me if I'd be willing to do it.
Apparently the going rate for 1-hour of audio is $85.00. I didn't charge that much. Of course I'm so slow at typing that it'll turn out to be about 2 dollars and hour by the time I get done....haha
There are so many people out there that have a story to tell. I am thinking of our "Greatest Generation" and so many others that have been a part of some amazing history. With the blessing of the internet these stories can be archived for posterity.
There is a website called www.wordclay.com where you can submit a manuscript to be published for free, and it can be sold there. I believe Amazon may have a similar program.
Well, enough stalling for me, I've got to get this project done.
Learning so much cool stuff.
The idea I have is to post an advertisement offering transcribing services for audio, conference calls or other audio recordings. The targeted market could be legal, business, network marketers, or anyone wanting to tell their story.
Let me know what you think. Where do you think some good areas would be to advertise this service ?
Much blessing to all
