I just started this blog. I am looking for a few people to view it and leave comments. Also, I have a poll question that I want to make sure is working. Thanks all.

Your blog seems very interesting and intriguing. I like the colors and the way that it's laid out as well as the posts. They grabbed my attention. I left a comment for one of the posts on there. I did have some problems trying to post the comment, though, since it required that I have a blogger or google account already. This could be a nuisance for some and discourage them from leaving a comment if they have to register through google first. I'm guessing that you have that enacted to prevent against spam though, correct?

Thanks MindyL for your comments. I agree that the comment thing is a nuisance. Actually, I didn't set that up. Or if I did, it was unknowingly. I am very new to blogging, so I chose to use google blogger, because I heard it was the easiest. If anyone knows how to undo that feature with blogger, please let me know. Thanks again MindyL!

The over all look of the blogg is very impressive! And I loved what you are writing about--it has some real content. I'm with you all the way in trying to motivate others to make reading a higher priority for ourselves and our children. Taking it one more step, sometimes I think we have spent so much time worrying about all the "Johnny's" that can't read that we have missed teaching our children what is GOOD reading!!

I myself have a blogger account and logged in to see if I could figure out how to disable that feature. From your blogger Dashboard, click on manage "settings". From there, click on the top tab that says "Comments". Where it says "Who Can Comment?" , choose "Anyone" if you don't want to require people to have a google or blogger account. Then, save the settings.

Way to Go Mindy !

I really like your site Mindy. There are some really cool things you can do on Blogger. Check out the "layout" section.

You can add very cool content in this area, including RSS feed, video content, photo albums, ect...

Also, a very good way to 'monetize' your site is by becoming an Amazon associate, which is also free. You can add 'widgets' to your site recommending books and any other Amazon product ;)

I like what you've done there and the biggest compliment I have for you is your ability to write catchy paragraph headers that make people want to click on them!

Content is king and you've done a great job with that!

My only complaint is the 'wowzza' graphic image - it looks a little cheesy and degrades your page because it's distorted. Fix that and you're lookin' good.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I changed the Wowzza link on the site. I agree, the banner was a bit sloppy. They don't have banner links on the wowzza back office yet, but I made my own, although the links are above and below the banner picture, so it looks hopefully more professional now.

I also added a video welcome. I like the idea of connecting with people in a real authentic way, such that the web site takes on the personality of the owner. I've always admired folks that can do this effectively, an most importantly authentically. I aspire to be able to do this.

Personally, I'm attracted to bright and shiny things....maybe a splash of color someplace, or some pictures to look at while reading?? Just thoughts...

Your blog is clean, open, and well aligned :)

Not many images and widget stuff on your blog makes it look clean and neat, its my kinda blog . By trying to make your blog look good by adding this image, and that widget, you’re often progressing away from your desire to make it better. Granted, images can greatly enhance the look of a site. However, the reality is that they can ruin the look easier than make it better.

I really like the idea of incorporating video into a site. I think I read somewhere that it can increase conversions/clicks by as much as 80%. I'll have to see if I can find that article again.

Can I ask what video player you're using? I like it.
