We hired our son!!!

John and I had to make a decision to let go of one of our favorite clients that John had been doing reports for for years. The pay just isn't worth it to us anymore with all the higher profile work on our plates.

Then John got the idea that he could train our 16 year old Orion to do the work. It's mainly excel work -- and Orion is really computer savvy.

I was surprised at how excited he was at the prospect. Our client was really happy to hire him and everyone is happy!

Orion has his first job!

Today he started training and I have to say -- I really didn't expect it would be THIS easy for him...

So now our family business, Redfield Outsourcing Ideas, has really evolved :)

That's AWESOME!!! Many years ago, I hired a high school girl to help me. She was the daughter of my own moms coworkers. While the girls was a sweetheart and a half, she made a lot of errors.

After a few months, I had to let her go. My own daughter was about 11 at the time. She offered to take over. She continued to work for me until she left for college. She did an awesome job, seldom made an error and the work got done.

I always remember fondly the times that my dad would let me work for him when I was younger. He owned his own business, so he had lots of odds and ends jobs for me to do to earn some extra money. Your son will always remember his first job and especially now that he works for you it will make it even more special!
