We are recruiting an Inpatient Medical Records Coder for our Corporate Office. This position codes inpatient medical records, including all diagnoses, operative and diagnostic procedures in patient's medical record, using the International Classification of Diseases and enters coded information into an automated system.
Under the supervision of the Inpatient Coding Manager, the experienced Coder will assign Dx & Process codes. Opportunity for a flexible work schedule with the option of working from home after training completion. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Knowledge and ability to apply inpatient coding guidelines.
* Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, and terminology.
* Proficiency in ICD-9-CM Coding.
* Proficiency in DRG assignment.
* Ability to communicate, both written and orally.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information.
* Able to pass tests in coding.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma
* Applicants must be RHIA, RHIT, CCS, RN or certification applicants.
* 2+ years acute care hospital inpatient experience necessary.
