Who has blogged on WritingUp?

I'd like to know your experiences since I'm considering this. I also have some questions. I am a freelance newspaper writer who has never written for the Internet, and I was interested when I heard about this website.

Is this considered a professional thing to do?

Will I make enough to make this worth my while?

How is the income really generated? I understand that the website owners make half and I make half but I don't know how it is really made.

A new site called Gather.com is in public beta and offers a similar program to WritingUp for sharing advertising revenue with bloggers. They secured $6 million in funding and will officially launch in a month or two. I have a short article (http://blog.getthenetresults.com/?p=15) about them over at my blog.
