Yeah folks...they are going up again!
What does everyone think of the Postal Office raising their rates on us yet again?
Do you think this will change the way you do business?

Wow!!! It's such a nuisance when postage goes up.

I hate it when the rates go up. It is absolutely absurd! Now is a good time to hear about them. Last time they went up, I didn't hear about it at all until I went to the Post Office and they had already gone up. I guess it is better to prepare for it now, than wait until the last minute!

I am getting tired of it. I think the postal office gives LOUSY service as it is!

I know what you mean about service, last time I went to my post office, I was treated like a 6 year old. I get better service at the small ones inside the grocery stores compared to the actual post offices!

Wow...not again!! :(
My (soon to be) daughter-in-law was just figuring up the grand total for their wedding last night and she estimated postage for invitations around $100...think again!
Bummer!
I already call her my daughter-in-law. :D

We go to 3 different post offices. Two of them are ok. The third...ug I don't care for those employees. One has been there at least 20 years and was old 20 years ago. One is so mean and nasty, I just hate when he waits on me.
Someone is not figuring right if they need to raise rates again so soon.

I agree!!
I can't *believe* the rates are going up again, pretty soon everyone will just resort to email because we won't be able to afford to mail letters

I think its out of hand. Yes, I know its a part of doing business and Yes, I know we can write some of it off as a business expense but jeepers...it really hurts the small biz owner. I will be out hundreds of dollars upfront by doing alot of mailings (catalogs, hostess packets, invitations, postcards, recruiting packets, etc)...errrr! That one penny increase does ADD UP when you do alot of mailings.

I hate that rates are going up again so soon too. But with gas prices going up again, it's understandable. They will have to compensate for that also, just like grocery stores, etc. Seems everything is going up except our salaries:roll:

I knew I should have seriously stocked up on those forever stamps!
EDIT: Yeah, I'm fortunate that with my business we rarely send things through the mail. I can see where those who do could really be thrown off.
I rarely mail anything -- but I've always been amazed that I can get something all the way across the country for less then a dollar! LOL.
If it affected my business I think I'd be concerned though.

We live in a rural area and we have a small post office..but the people are great. I do a lot of ebay and send packages through the post office with carrier pickup, since it is often hard for me to get to the post office, medical problems. But a couple of times the carrier forgot to pick up my scheduled package so the postmaster, herself came out and got it. Also, my brother is postmaster of another postal branch so I hear all the woes of the business. I do know that there is another post office in another town that I have been to off and on and the people there are rude, crabby and not a bit helpful. But rates are getting ridiculous that is for sure.
