Hey Kim,
I'm interested in more information. What do you do with the booklets? Is there any possibility of royalties?

I have done some writing for Thomas Nelson, and various magazines--covering a variety of topics related to faith, child rearing, education, caring for aging parents, etc. I work full time at a home business, but writing is always of interest.

Do you publish biographical/"based on the life of" type of books? What topics are most in demand for your market? Lots of questions...

Hello, Nani.

Thank you for your interest in this writing position, but I'm afraid it's no longer available. You see, I've come up with a much better idea!

Now, this isn't all in place yet, so this is just a preview - ok? I'm working on a project, which, when finished, will help other writers complete a booklet of their own. Once they have a finished booklet (which WILL be a highly marketable product after they've finished my "program"), Their booklet will be added to my inventory and marketed through my company (for a small, monthly fee) to large quantity buyers. I'll take care of all the negotiations and contracts, and the booklet authors will receive a 50% royalty (on the net income) on every deal that is made with their booklet. In addition, the booklet authors will receive marketing information from me every month (this is included at no extra charge), and they will be free to market their booklets anywhere else they choose. Most authors don't feel equipped to do their own marketing, but with the ideas they get from me each month they'll be excited about the possibilities for where and how they can sell their booklets.

The market for booklets is wide open for a vast variety of topics, and there can be several different markets for each title. I've got markets right now that would be interested in your educational and child rearing titles, as well as your title regarding caring for aging parents.

My company sells booklets to large quantity buyers for use as premiums, trade show hand-outs, gifts, and as a means of giving information to their customers, clients or patients. Currently, I'm negotiating with several hospitals and non-profit organizations in regard to one of my own titles, "Simple Tips & Recipes For Feeding The Gluten Free/Dairy Free Child." And I just completed a three year deal for this same title with an online homeschool resource.

The fact is, if you can write an article, you can write a booklet. But, there's a method to it and things you have to know to do it right and end up with a marketable product. If done properly, you'll have a product that you can reap the benefits from for years to come.

This is just huge, and there's so much more I could tell you. But, it's too much for this one little message. If you're interested in what I've told you here, let me know and give me a way to contact you (email or pm here or whatever). I will let you know once I've got everything in place, and you can look everything over then.

If you want to see my company's website, go to http://www.upandatempublications.com You'll get a good sense of who I'm reaching in the marketplace, and you can check out my blog there too, which offers ideas to businesses for using booklets as a promotional tool. I'll have a new website up soon, which will be just for writers. I'm hoping to have everything completed in the next couple of months.

Thanks!

Lori

Yes, Kim, I'm interested. Maybe it would be a way to market our home business--we manufacture a product and package it in fundraisers for schools and non-profits. Keep me posted. Maybe the best way to contact me is through pm here. (I'm still learning my way around the forum--this is my first experience with any forum--so you may have to be patient with me.)

Good luck! It sounds like a great idea! Be sure to keep me posted.

Lori: Thanks! I sure will!

Nani: Welcome to the wonderful world of forums! You picked a really good one to start with. I've been on a number of forums over the past several years, and some of them get too many posts to keep up with. Others tend to attract some rather rude individuals. I've never seen anything like that here. Everyone has been terrific and I've really enjoyed getting to know all the ladies here. I'm so glad you've joined us!

I promise I will keep you updated on my project. I'm glad you're interested, and I think it will definitely help you with your home business. My entire business is built on booklets, and so I know the profit potential they hold, and what they can do for you!

Take care.
