I just started my first home business. I am selling Usborne books. I had my first home show on Friday, which was like my launch. I have a huge family, and I invited a lot of people. Because of illness, only 4 people came, and no children. I had counted on having 8-12 of my little cousins at the show, and not a single one was there. That really bummed me out, but I just went on with the show.
When it was all said and done, I was surprised that I had still met my goal for the show. Somehow, with only four people, I had managed to have a show with retail sales equaling $250.53. I wanted to hit $250, which gave me double free books. Since I was the host and consultant for my show, I earned $62 cash and $80 in free books, which I can keep or sell. I also got three bookings, so I am off to a great start.
I plan to focus on catalog and e-shows so I can still be with my kids as much as possible. If anyone is interested in hosting a show, e-mail me. These books are great and the business is so easy.
