I'm interested in YOUR experiences with content sites like Associated Content, Constant Content, etc.

What do you like and not like about the sites you use?

How long did it take to get paid?

Did you get paid what you considered a fair price for your work?

I am strictly a print market writer at this time but I have a few general pieces I've written that aren't suitable for what I'm doing right now so I'm looking into posting them online somewhere to see what happens. I've looked into this before but been sorely disappointed by the terribly low pay.

I did find a site that looks very professional and that appears to pay fairly (Constant Content) but you have to have $50 before you can get paid, I understand. I guess that's not a problem since what I have isn't making me anything right now.

I've half a mind to create a new page on my writing website (I don't use it for obtaining work) and put my four or five pieces there just for the heck of it.

So I'd like to know your experiences with these types of sites.

Hiya Michelle,

For some reason I didn't see your post before. Sorry :(

I have been a writer submitting to Associated Content for about 18 months almost. But it is the only one that I can really talk about. I have brought in a couple of hundred dollars there, and know there are people that have made more, but then again there are people who have made a lot less.

Depending on when you submit and what topics you are writing about determines what results you get. They seem to be getting pretty stingy with the payouts lately, but nickels and dimes add up. I do get a monthly payment on page views, which is nice.

I do have articles posted on my Written Word Services for examples of what I write. Feel free to take a peak. I think it is a great way to get examples of your written work out there.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your answer ... Are you happy with Associated Content? Is it what you expected, or are you doing better or worse there than you thought you would?

Would you mind posting your link to AC?

AC has been good to me. While they no longer pay like they did, it has given me a place to refer people to when they want to know the variety of topics I can and do write about. If it weren't for the contract I have with another company I would still be actively writing for them and promoting for page views. Frankly I just don't have the time. I do get a few dollars a month for page views, which doesn't hurt at all, and I do at least one article a month.
