Bed Bath and Beyond

We went shopping yesterday. My mom took us to her local BB&B. She grabbed a cart and then said "we need to go upstairs". Hmmm "mom, how are you getting that cart upstairs?" She looked at me and just smiled.

We went to the escalator and right next to the people escalator was the cart escalator. If you have never seen something like this...it's amazing...for those that have seen it....It just goes to show that Santa Barbara truly is a small town.

I was blown away. You push your cart through a small gate, it hooks to the escalator and goes just a bit slower than the people one, meaning you get there before your basket.

It worked the same going down with our cart full. We pushed the full cart through the gate, it caught and it was on its way down.

For me...truly amazing.

Our BB&B is only one level, but I did see one of these cart thingys in the IKEA store in Culver City on Vacation. I was quite amazed at it myself.:cool:

I don't shop in stores like I used to. Mostly everything is
by catalog/mail.

I never saw a cart escalator lol.

I love Bed Bath and Beyond. I like getting those 20% off coupons in the mail. Those escalator carts are really great. Technology, it's amazing.

That is really neat! I had never heard of such a thing. I hope they come to my area soon, though Flint, Michigan, is not exactly a money making city right now.

I remember seeing my first cart escalator in a new Target and being amazed as well. Technology can be pretty accommodating sometimes :-)
