Losing Power

We lost power for a while last night. The rains here have been bad. Apparantly a power something or rather blew and about 9pm we lost power. We are not prepared as I know we should be. I only have one flashlight, it's a powerful one, but it's only one.

We also couldn't find any candles. So, the girls and I sat in my room talking for a while. The power came back on after an hour or so. Thank goodness Microsoft Word auto recovered the document I was working on.

I used to live in a town where we had "brown outs" all the time. Thats when power just flickers out all over town. I like the flashlights like that don't need batteries--you wind them up. Some have radios in them too that are pretty neat. You can buy then almost anywhere.

A good rule of thumb I have for when I'm writing a document is to save often! Seriously. Ctrl+S. I recommend doing this even if its a blah document that you don't intend on keeping. For things like this, I save them as "Kill Me" or plain "Delete Me" on my desk top that way I know I don't have to look at them before I delete them.
